Some operating system versions may experience this issue. Currently, iOS 16 -17 has this issue. It may take 20 - 50 minutes for automatic activation, please do not take any action while activating your eSIM.
When installing eSIM outside Vietnam, after activating, you may also get "Unable to activate eSIM" error. Then, you can restart your device, then go to Settings > Cellular to check whether the eSIM is on your device or not?
If it is already on your device, please do not delete it. When landing in Vietnam, and first get mobile signal in Vietnam, it will work. Just remember to send a text message as attached guide to activate the data plan.
